What does the Friends of the Cupertino Library (FOCL) do?

The FOCL sells gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and more at their used book sales three times per year. The FOCL also sells books in the lobby of the library throughout the year and also sell books online.

How can I donate books to the Friends of the Cupertino Library?

You can donate books by dropping them into the lobby box near the accounts desk or outside by the book returns near the 4-minute parking. Books and media are accepted from Tuesdays 10am to Thursday 4pm.

What items can I donate?

We accept books and multimedia including VHS, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays in good or gently used condition. No magazines, cassette tapes or encyclopedias.

What if I have a large quantity to donate?

You can bring up to 5 boxes from Tuesday 10am to Thursday 4pm. Please speak with library staff at the Service Counter to get assistance. If you have a larger donation, please contact cupertinofol@gmail.com to arrange a drop-off time.

Can I get a donation receipt?

Yes. A library staff member can provide a receipt upon request.

Where do the proceeds from book sales go?

Proceeds support the library by funding new books, a variety of programs like reading, music, dance, art education, and facility improvements for the Cupertino Library.
